NDIS Update

Posted on 7 December 2021

AAPi is heavily involved in NDIS related matters with a number of key reviews and consultations currently occurring. Members of the NDIS interest group contributed to a large submission for the NDIS Pricing Review. This was an extremely important submission considering the trends we are seeing of psychology funding being cut, psychologists de-registering from the scheme due to high verification costs and red tape, devaluing of psychologist in the disability industry and global cost cutting measures being put in place within the scheme. I am incredibly grateful to the incredibly talented and articulate members that provided contribution to this very important piece of work. I thank the other members of the group who were so generous with their offers for help but who I was unable to catch up with. I appreciate you all, your willingness to support AAPi is such a testament to the character of our members. With members contributions we were able to compile a comprehensive submission that covered the diverse needs of providers and participants and feedback around the current funding practices.

A special thanks to our key contributors:

  • Christine Antonopoulos
  • Karen Donnelly
  • Louise Munro
  • Peter Smith
  • Roslyn Snyder
  • Sonia Street
  • Tracey Cairns

The NDIS interest group is continuing to work on two other pieces of work to assist NDIS psychologists and clients. If you are a member working in the NDIS area we welcome your involvement in the NDIS interest group, find out more or join here.
