National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse Research Grant
The National Centre are looking to fund a range of short-medium and longer-term projects on the research to quality improvement continuum which align with their vision of a community in which children are safe, and victims and survivors of child sexual abuse across the lifespan are supported to heal and recover.
The National Centre adopts a broad definition of research to include all systematic investigations undertaken to gain knowledge and understanding, including evaluations and quality improvement activities. They are committed to funding research projects that go beyond the creation of new knowledge to include the implementation of practice improvement, capability building and the development of partnerships that can drive change.
This grants round is open to any Australian organisation with the capacity to undertake research, including services, and can be led by researchers or practitioners.

Mental Health Program - Community Based Eating Disorder Supports
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to implement innovative and specialised eating disorder treatments, interventions, services and supports in the community setting. Evidence-based eating disorder treatments, interventions, services and supports delivered under this grant opportunity should cover a range of eating disorder diagnoses and will need to include an evaluation component which aligns with the activities of the Australian Eating Disorders Research & Translation Centre.
The objectives of the program are:
- Ensure every Australian with an eating disorder has access to community-based treatment supports and services; and
- People with an eating disorder can access recurrent episodes of treatment, from the appropriate service provider in the stepped system of care.
For this grant opportunity up to $20,000,000 (ex GST) is available over four financial years (2022-23 to 2025-26).

Innovator Training Program
This program supports the development of a cohort of aged care staff with the confidence and knowledge to introduce evidence-based practices and projects into their organisations. Any member of the aged care workforce can apply to participate with the support of their organisation. The ITP will provide participants (‘Innovators’) with tools and skills to use best available knowledge and evidence to identify and solve problems and challenges, or implement opportunities, in their workplace.
The outcome of the ITP is a project with a well-defined problem that is achievable to address within a 12-month timeframe. You may be eligible to apply if you:
- Are employed to deliver care or services as part of the aged care workforce
- Have identified a problem, challenge or idea that when solved or applied could improve your practice
- Are supported by your employer to participate in the training
- Can relate the problem to be solved to the priorities of ARIIA, being one or a combination of: Urgent and Critical need, Dementia, Restorative care and rehabilitation, Social isolation, Mental health and wellbeing, End of Life & Palliative Care, or Meaningful Lifestyle Activities

Indigenous Scholarship Program
This scholarship is for first year students in 2023 who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, studying at an Australian university or TAFE. You can be a recent school leaver or a mature age student looking to study in 2023. The scholarship award value is $6,500 per year for a maximum of 2 years. Accommodation, study resources and course fees can be covered.

Mable Community Grants
Mable Community Grants fund people and projects that promote inclusion for people with disability and older Australians. The grants range from $2,000 to $20,000 and must relate to promoting independence or inclusivity in the arts, sports and recreation and business and technology.
Funds could be for:
- Research and testing of new technology designed to make it easier for our ageing population to live independently at home for longer
- Production costs for a film written, directed or starring people with a disability or older people or with a subject matter supporting inclusion and independence.
- Purchasing equipment or travel expenses for an individual or sporting team travelling to a domestic or international tournament
- Funding of a new business venture or research projects that promote inclusion

E.J. Connellan Award
The E.J Connellan Award aims to give the opportunity to people living in Outback Australia to undertake further studies or research of a kind not otherwise readily available to them. Two awards may be granted: Junior 16 – 25 years of age and Senior 26 years of age and over.
Applicants must reside in Outback Australia, ie live and work on stations or in small isolated, rural and remote towns and have the potential to make a major contribution in the area of their endeavour.

MRFF - Indigenous Health Research Grant
The Indigenous Health Research Grant Opportunity aims to support multidisciplinary teams of researchers to undertake collaborative, intervention-focussed research that is transformative, scalable and demonstrates the greatest impact on health outcomes and translation into policy and/or practice.
The goal is to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through:
- Indigenous-led research and governance
- knowledge translation
- evidence-based change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practice
- building on the unique knowledge, strengths and endurance of our communities with particular reference to Country, Culture and Spirituality.

High-Risk Settings Pandemic Payment
The High-Risk Settings Pandemic Payment (HRSPP) is a lump sum payment of $450 or $750 depending on the hours work you have lost. It is to help you during the time you can’t work and earn an income, because you have tested positive for COVID-19. A high-risk setting can be any of the following that involves frequent close contact:
- Aged care, including home care with close personal care and support services
- Disability care, including home care with close personal care and support services
- Aboriginal healthcare, including workers employed by National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (NACCHOs), community health care, Aboriginal drug and alcohol services and support services
- Hospital care, including day hospitals and smaller facilities, paramedical, ambulance, patient transport and support.

Children’s Hospital Foundation Funding Scheme – NSW & QLD
This funding scheme aims to support transformational care through innovative health services and by enabling initiatives that promote the best possible patient experience. Funding can be requested for:
- Educational programs or resources for health professionals
- Support services or materials for patients and families
- Clinical activities with no research component
- Clinical equipment and resources
- Pilot programs or projects that aim to enhance the support provided to patients and their families
The maximum amount that can be requested is $50,000. Applications can be submitted at any time and will be formally assessed three times each financial year (July, March, October).

Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants - QLD
South East Queensland primary producers, businesses and non-profit organisations impacted by rainfall and flooding between February and April 2022 have more time to apply with the application deadline extended to 10 March 2023.
Grants of up to $75,000 are available for primary producers, and $50,000 for small businesses and not-for-profit organisations, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), and are designed to assist with the costs of clean-up, and reinstatement of operations.

QCoal Foundation Scholarship - QLD
Preference is given to those from regional and remote communities in Queensland and the $30,000 scholarship provides a pathway to further education without the economic challenges that are associated with having to relocate to attend university. Among other criteria, students:

- must be starting their first year of study in a Bachelor degree (second year for Geology or Earth Science)

One-off grants of up to $300,000 are available for local projects supporting young people, who are or could become offenders, to change their behaviours and improve community connection. An ideal proposal will include:
- A new idea or concept that has not already been tried or is available in your community
- A response to local youth crime matters in your community
- Demonstration of culturally safe and local partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
- Demonstration of how your model/program addresses the causes of youth crime and delivers positive outcomes for young people who are, or who are at risk of, committing crime
- Performance and outcomes measures that reflect the needs and aspirations of young people in the community

Variety Heart Scholarships -SA
This program supports children with an existing talent, who are socioeconomically or geographically disadvantaged or are living with a disability, to achieve their full potential and to follow their dreams.
Applications can only be accepted for South Australian children up to the age of 18. Scholarships of up to $5,000 per year, per application, are awarded on an annual basis to support children in the areas of the arts and sport.

Power Shut Off - Generator Grant - SA
The Government of South Australia has established the Generator Grant Program to support South Australian homeowners, businesses and primary producers in the River Murray regions affected by the high water flow event on the River Murray to buy a generator.
Eligible parties can apply to the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science for a one-off grant to contribute towards the purchase of a suitable generator to enable them to remain at their home or continue operating their business or primary production activity during the flood event. Up to $500 for a household or $4,000 for a business or primary producer is available.

Grants between $5,000 and up to $50,000 (excluding GST) are available for projects which support building and facility improvements for not-for-profit organisations delivering services to veterans, their families and communities. The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) program aims to support initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ young people young people aged 10-25 years through increased representation, engagement, and participation with decision-making. YACWA will provide support and guidance through the application process and acquittal requirements on completion of the project.
Empowerment involves young people making decisions about their own lives, and getting the support needed to make this happen. It begins with having strong and secure foundations that allow people, families, and communities to grow and develop, and build their own futures. Variety ThriveKids grants provide practical equipment to help WA kids develop and thrive. This includes items that promote behavioural regulation, physical development, independence, wellbeing, social inclusion and more. Items you can apply for may include:

Variety TechKids Grants provide assistive technology to help WA kids with their communication, learning, behavioural regulation and safety. The individual item request limit is $1,200 and items you can apply for may include:

- Software
- GPS watch
- Accessories
The applications for both can be completed by a parent or carer, or approved third party (key therapist, social worker, support worker etc.) if they have consent of the parent or carer.

Stan Perron Charitable Foundation Community Grants - WA
Stan Perron’s charitable giving is focused heavily on children and younger people – especially in relation to health, medical research and those younger members of the community living with disability. This extends to the funding of activities contributing to the education of children and young people, especially the most vulnerable. The Foundation provides funds for iconic cultural and arts organisations in Western Australia, recognising the importance these kinds of activities play in the enrichment of our community.
The Foundation has a preference for applicants prepared to consider funding on a partnership basis. Other sources of funding may come from either private or Government sources.
