AAPi Media Advocacy- Medicare Rebates

Posted on 17 May 2022

In the final days of a long election campaign, AAPi is working hard to represent our members and affect reform for our sector. We are lobbying all sides for simple, practical solutions to ease the overwhelming demand on psychology services, improve accessibility for clients, and strengthen the sector.

Today AAPi was featured fighting on behalf of our members in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Brisbane Times and syndicated metropolitan and regional outlets.

Discussing Medicare reform of the two tier system and providing a rebate for provisional psychologists, 'The mental health system is ‘overwhelmed’. Some psychologists say Medicare offers a solution' and  'Trainees a simple solution to the care crisis' reached an audience of over 1.1 million across the country.

AAPi continues to represent all psychologists leading up to the election and beyond.

If you are yet to take action and let your local candidate know that mental health care needs to be a priority, please take 2 minutes to contact them here.
