AAPi Welcomes Dr Bronwyn Milkins

Posted on 2 December 2022

Welcome to our newest board member Dr Bronwyn Milkins. Bronwyn joins the AAPi Board as we farewell Aila Copland. AAPi would like to thank Aila for her hard work and dedication, and we wish her well in her retirement.

Bronwyn is a 5+1 early-career registered psychologist who runs her own private practice in Perth. She also holds a PhD in Psychology and works in a university research role investigating the healthcare needs of LGBTIQA+ individuals experiencing intimate partner violence.

Outside of work, she hosts the Mental Work podcast, which exists to unpack the challenges faced by early-career psychologists. She has been invested in improving the wellbeing of the Australian community since her teens, which has been recognised through several awards including finalist for WA Young Person of the Year (Community Leadership), ‘Young Social Pioneer in Mental Health’ by the Foundation for Young Australians, and winner of the Act-Belong-Commit award for her delivery of 100+ talks on mental health in the WA community.

Social justice is close to Bronwyn’s heart, and she hopes to advocate for all psychologists in her position as an AAPi board member to create a more equitable, diverse, and democratic psychology profession.
